In 2021 I curated and produced image for an exhibition in the Leeds City Museum. I photographed the Leeds Museum collection using modern macro photography methods and produced images that were then printed up to 3 metres in size.

The project was made possible by using modern macro photographic techniques, with state of the art equipment and software processing. Images were composited from thousands of individual photos to allow resolution to be high enough for large format printing at high resolution.

Visitors were able to get up close and personal with these tiny creatures and see them in new ways. The exhibition got excellent feedback and some visitors commented the photography gave them new insights to the insects that we often take for granted.

Digital Elements

To complement the printed images, digital elements were made available inside the exhibition, as well as online. These consisted zoomable interactive elements, as well as animations - to give visitors the ability to appreciate the detail of the insects.
